These terms cover the Hello Budget Telegram bot (@hello_budget_bot),
its Mini App at https://hello-budget-tg.gpm.name, the web app at https://hello-budget-app.gpm.name and the Android
app. Using any of them means accepting them.
What Hello Budget is
A bot that writes down what you spend and tells you how much of your budgets is left. It is a record of what you tell it. It is not accounting software, not tax advice and not financial advice, and nothing it shows you is a professional opinion about your money.
What it costs
The bot is free to use within the limits listed on the home page. Pro removes those limits and is paid in Telegram Stars, either 150 Stars a month or 1500 Stars for twelve months.
The monthly plan is a subscription: it renews itself until you cancel it, and cancelling is done in Telegram’s settings rather than here. The yearly plan is not a subscription and does not renew: it is one payment for twelve months, after which the account goes back to the free plan on its own. Buying a year while a month is still running adds the twelve months on top of what is left rather than replacing it.
Stars are Telegram’s, not mine: they are bought from Telegram and the charge is Telegram’s. Refunds are possible while Telegram allows them for a given payment; ask at apps@gpm.name.
Cancelling stops the renewal. Pro runs until the date it was paid up to.
In the Android app from Google Play, Pro is bought through Google Play instead, as a monthly or a yearly subscription at the price Google Play shows before you confirm, in your currency. Both renew themselves until you cancel them, and cancelling is done in Google Play (Play Store → your profile → Payments and subscriptions). A free trial, where Google Play offers one, is for somebody who has never had the subscription; it turns into the paid plan at its end unless it is cancelled first. The charge, its receipt and its refunds are Google Play’s, under Google Play’s terms. Pro bought either way is the same Pro, on the same account, wherever you sign in.
Assistants
With Pro you can connect an AI assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to your account. How it is done is on this page.
- It acts on your behalf, with the permission you gave when you connected it: read only, or read and write. You are responsible for what it does in your account, including in shared accounts, where the other members are notified as if you had done it yourself.
- It can misunderstand. It can write something you did not mean, or change or delete something you wanted kept. Check what it does.
- Pro is required. If Pro ends, the assistant is refused until it is renewed.
- You can end a connection at any time in Settings, under Connected assistants. The service can end one, or all of them, where it is misused.
- The assistant is not part of Hello Budget. It is run by someone else and is governed by their terms and privacy policy, not by these. What it reads is held by them: see the privacy policy.
- The sections on no warranty and on liability apply to what an assistant does through Hello Budget, as they do to everything else.
No warranty
The bot is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. It is run on one server by one person; it can be down, and a message can be lost.
Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. Settings → Export gives you a CSV of your expenses at any time, and Pro sends one every month without being asked.
Your data is yours
You keep everything you write down. It is not sold, not shared (except with an assistant you connect, as above) and not used to train anything. What is stored and what is not is in the privacy policy.
Acceptable use
Do not use the bot to break the law, and do not try to reach data that is not yours or to knock the service over. Automated use that degrades it for other people is not allowed.
Access can be withdrawn where one of those happens. Where that leaves a paid subscription unused, the unused part is refunded.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit, or for a decision taken on the basis of what the bot showed you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited — death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, and the rights you have as a consumer.
Availability and changes
Features can change and the service can be discontinued. If it is discontinued, notice will be given in the bot and on this site with enough time to export your data, and any subscription running at that point is refunded for its unused part.
Governing law
Italian law, and the courts of Rome, Italy. If you are a consumer this does not take away the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in.
